The Ice Factor Challenge Cup is a tournament held at the conclusion of each school term. Both Division 1 and Division 2 Cups are held for each respective student group, and allow our teams to test their skills out in a fully-fledged ice hockey tournament situation.
We include an Opening Ceremony where students are selected to undertake special roles, such as being the MC, singing the National Anthem, and welcoming special guests. We invite leading sports people, outstanding citizens, sponsors, and dignitaries such as the Governor of South Australia to attend. This allows us to ensure the sustainability of the program, as well as allow our students to meet supportive members of the public. Our special guests help with the presentation of our prestigious awards, including the Don Anderson Perpetual Cup, Hall of Fame Awards, and Community Service Awards. Furthermore, we have had team from Canberra participate in the tournament three times, winning the Division 2 Cup on 1 occasion. The cuurent holders are: Para Hills Outlawz Division 1 Pasadena Predators Division 2 Seaford Strikers are the current Spirit Cup holders. The tournaments are usually open to the public for free, and we actively encourage people to come down and cheer for their team. The louder the better!
