Lachie became a real leader for the team both on and off the ice and after finishing in the program he started mentoring for his former team and other teams.
We were very impressed with the way Lachie was able to connect with the students so it was only a matter of time before he would join our coaching staff. As a player lachie started his hockey career with the Henley Beach Dingoes in the Ice Factor Program. Since finishing in the program Lachie started playing local hockey in the B-Grade level and is currently an A-Grade player in the SA leagues. dean "Wombat" worsley - mentorHistory: Where to start with Deano? Deano is a long time military veteran who has seen the world. After retiring from military Deano decided what any sane person would - in the late 40's why wouldn't I start playing ice hockey in Australia? As Deano started playing he was noticed by Ice Factor and eventually we asked Deano to come and speak to our students as a special guest. We noticed the students were very inspired by Deano's story and experience so we wanted Deano to become a more regular part of the program. Since then Deano has done anything and everything we have asked for him to do for the Ice Factor Program: Taking on ice classes, spoken to the students in the class rooms, mentoring and giving individual advice and driving the bus when needed.
